2013 marked our first full year of 400-euro-job, and as we look back on it, we recognize what a year it has been! For all of us here at 400-euro-job, 2013 was a year of inspiration. Whether it was cars, garages, events, or the people we met, 2013 inspired us to drive more, explore, finish our projects, and dream of cars yet to come.

Below we list some of our favorite film shoots and experiences of 2013.

Can you believe it has been less than a year since we peeked into Jack Olsen’s garage and rode along in his 911? Is there anything more inspirational than his garage created out of a humble two-car garage and on a budget?

Another garage that inspired us this year is the one that was built solely to showcase a car as a work of art and specifically this incredible Ferrari BB512

We had the opportunity to travel the world to see how vintage car culture thrives in unexpected places.

We received your submissions from nearly every corner of the world, including a Zaz in Russia and a Saab in Poland. We Petrolisti may not all speak the same language but in way we all do, and this common language is our love for vintage cars.

Along the way, we had the privilege to meet some incredible owners and their dedication their cars like Guy Newmark and his million-mile 356 and Randy Balingit-Hartmann and his nearly half-million-mile BMW E28 M5.

What could be more inspiring than three generations of the same family dedicated to the repair and restoration of vintage Bugattis?  We were fortunate enough to see inside Garage Novo, outside of Paris. If this doesn’t make you want to get out and work on your project, we aren’t sure what will.

We got to ride in one of the two original vintage Ferrari police car through the rolling hills of Rimini, Italy, and we also had a great time with Manuel Leon Minassian and his Alfa Romeo Berlina, listening to so many of his stories and learning how his passion became an obsession.

2013 was a fantastic year and we are incredibly thankful for the owners of these cars, the people we have had a chance to meet, and our readers. Thank you for your help and support this year and for all the ways you have inspired us. Rest assured we won’t sit back in 2014, so here is to another fantastic year.

Happy New Year to our Petrolisti!

Thanks for ALL the great stuff, both the videos and the articles, but absolute stand-outs for me were two of the 250 Ferraris – the GTE Roman police warhorse and the exquisite Lusso with the symphonic exhaust note … ! PS Would be great to see a French car or two get the 400-euro-job video treatment this year!

Happy New Year. I actually picked completely different videos as my favourites; Firstly I loved Morning Ritual because to be honest it doesn’t get much better that a Ferrari 250 Lusso being driven at night. Only a week later I loved Speed of Sunshine as it was a completely different take on why we love classic cars Live the Super 70’s has just the best intro and made me want what I had previously considered one of the least desirable Ferraris Dare to be different made me want a modified Datsun 240Z and covert owner Dave Scholz’s seventies F1 jacket… Read more »

I have loved this website over the last 12 months, so thank you for 2013 and I look forward to next year with baited breath. My highlight was the Jack Olsen video which I have re-watched several times and proved inspirational for me over the last year (at least the garge is an awful tidier than it was).

Congratulations on a very productive 2013 – very impressive content for any year, much more so for an initial launch year! The features and films you have produced and made available to us are truly inspiring, enabling us to see and share our common bond over all things petroli, but also reinforcing that it is the people behind the cars that are the most rewarding.

Thank you for all of your hard work in 2013. We look forward to what you will bring us in 2014.
